Organisations today need to be quick and responsive to changes in their industries - whether the result of new work practices (legislated or industry regulated), new products/services, new/improved technology, or relocations. To make changes quickly and achieve real Business Benefits, organisations need their people to participate in and/or manage business projects using generally accepted Project Management principles and methods. More than ever, organisations depend on staff at all levels to contribute to the success of their projects. Whilst organisations may not need their people to become career Project Managers, before starting the process, organisations need to know the level of competency their people have in project management.
On Time, On Budget balances these business needs and provides organisations with practical and affordable Project Management learning for their staff. It is an internet based Curriculum that will equip business people with knowledge and skills in Project Management. Additionally, it provides a common communication platform to assist in the management of external project managers who may be managing projects on the organisation's behalf.
On Time, On Budget uses blended learning techniques to offer self-paced training. It incorporates:
Computer Facilitated Modules (CFLs)
Assignments
Face-to-Face Training Days (workshops)
Pre-Workshop Preparations
A pre and post program 360 Degree Feedback Questionnaire
A pre and post program Knowledge Audit Questionnaire
The program not only addresses the needs of different learning styles but also reduces the amount of Face-to-Face training needed and, therefore, time spent away from the office.
Because the program integrates with the questionnaire, Project Competency 360, the Curriculum provides "before" and "after" comparisons so individuals and management can gauge performance improvement over time. The learning program and the questionnaire were created concurrently: what one measures, the other develops.
By the end of the Curriculum students will be able to:
Identify when Project Management practices should be used to achieve an outcome
Identify the tools that can be used to evaluate potential projects
Conduct a Risk Assessment for a project
Understand and explain why managing the project as a whole is as important as managing each of its parts
Identify and manage a project's Stakeholders, the project's impact on each Stakeholder and the impact each Stakeholder can have on the project
Develop a Project Plan containing a Scope Definition, Project Schedule, Resource Requirements, Project Purchasing Requirements, and Project Communications Plan.
